Aspen Beach Provincial park is located on Gull Lake and is centrally located between Edmonton and Calgary and lies in two counties, Ponoka County and Lacombe County. The lake is easily accessed west of Ponoka on Highway 53 to get to the north side, or west of Lacombe on Highway 12 to reach the southern shores. Approx. 1 hour from Edmonton.
Aspen Beach has 2 campgrounds to choose from. Lakeview Campground offers 228 sites that are all pull through, which is ideal for the trailer or motor home campers. Some of these sites have power (30 AMP), water and sewer, power only (15 AMP) and non-power sites. I would recommend the sites that has (15 AMP) service if you are tenting. You would need 30 Amp if you have an air conditioner.
There is a private beach, and boat launch, as well as, playgrounds, a ball diamond, horseshoe pits, free showers and washrooms.
Brewers Campground is unserviced and provides a secluded, rustic atmosphere that is ideal for tents and trailers alike. There is a large public beach, concession, walking & biking trails, horseshoe pits, washrooms and showers.
A picnic table and firepit are available at all sites. Firewood is available for purchase.
Lake Whitefish, Walleye and Northern Pike are present in the lake. Gull Lake is the perfect place for fishing.
